Counselling With Emily — Easy Read
This page uses short sentences and simple words. Some people find this easier to read.
Who I Am
- My name is Emily Richmond.
- I am a counsellor.
- A counsellor is someone you can talk to about your feelings.
- I will listen. I will not judge you.
- I am trained and registered with the BACP. The BACP has rules that keep you safe.
Who I Work With
I work with lots of different people. I have extra experience with:
- people with a learning disability
- people who are neurodivergent — like autistic people, or people with ADHD
- parents and carers
You do not have to be any of these things. Everyone is welcome to come to me.
What Is Counselling?
- Counselling is a safe space to talk about your feelings.
- We usually meet every week, or every two weeks.
- Each session is 60 minutes.
- If 60 minutes is too long for you, we can make sessions shorter.
Making Sessions Work For You
I can change things to make sessions comfortable for you. For example:
- the lights can be soft, or curtains open or closed
- you can sit further away or closer to me
- you can bring something to fidget with
- we can go for a walk outside instead of sitting in a room
- you do not have to look at me if you don’t want to
Tell me what helps you. We can change things at any time.
How Much It Costs
- Sessions cost £60 each.
- I may be able to charge less if you get Carer’s Allowance, PIP, or DLA.
